Monday, 3/19 - CHARGE YOUR CHROMEBOOKS TONIGHT FOR PARCC PRACTICE TESTING ON TUESDAY, 3/20.

** We will be reading "Beyond Brave", an article about the famous surfer, Bethany Hamilton this week.  We will also be working on assignments to develop the students' critical reading and writing skills.

** Remember to bring your book to class everyday for "Time Out for Reading".

WEEK OF 3/12 TO 3/16

Friday, 3/16 - "Time Out for Reading" Book Letter to Mrs. Riley is due.

     * Please follow your Guidelines Handout carefully.

     * Spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar count.

     * Remember to proofread your letter carefully.

     * This will count as a test grade.

WEEK OF 2/26 TO 3/2

Monday, 2/26 - Class time will be given to complete the Responding to the Selection Assignment for the short story, "Zoo" by Edward Hoch.

     * Answer any two questions on page 56 ( Questions # 1, 2, 3, 5)

     * Use ROPE - Restate the question using the title and author.

     * Write 6 to 8 sentences or more.

     * One quote with page number - required for each question.

     * Use transitions ( 3 for each question)

     * Proofread carefully!

Thursday, 3/1 - Victorian Day

     * Lunch is provided for all 7th graders on this day.

     * Bring your Victorian clothing to your 4th period classroom or your locker.

     * You will have time to get changed after period 3.  Then stay with your period 4 class.


** We will continue to do Shark Oral Presentations and Peer Evaluations all week.
