Golub, Mr. P.

STEAM

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! My name is Patrick Golub, and I am excited to be running our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) program this year.  In addition, I will be functioning as Millington’s technology teacher.  In this role, I coordinate with students and teachers in both the computer lab and individual classrooms at all grade levels. Together we prepare students for PARCC testing, as well as, collaborate on projects that incorporate computer applications and technology.

STEAM classes begin in late September/early October for grades 2-5 (with 2nd graders receiving an intro to block coding and graphic design before graduating to the engineering and design activities provided for them later in the year). Implementation of the STEAM program will help to continue Millington School's tradition of promoting critical thinking, problem solving, and thoughtful reflection on a range of subjects and important issues. By utilizing and building upon such skills previously learned, students will be able to meet and hopefully exceed the challenges that will be placed on them in an ever-changing global society.

This is my fourteenth year at Millington School, and as a former alumnus of Millington School, it is an honor to teach here and help provide your child with the same quality of education I received. I have really enjoyed working in the supportive environment of the Long Hill community, and I am confident that we can make this school year a success.

I am looking forward to a very successful year, and have high expectations for your child. I will be doing all that I can to help your child achieve, while he/she makes a commitment to the learning process.

In essence, I truly love teaching and I am very happy that I will be able to share this upcoming year with your child. I look forward to meeting all of you soon. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at: pgolub(at)longhill(dot)org.

Regards,

Mr. Golub
