December 2018

Well…the holidays are approaching and the children are quite eager to celebrate!  There is cheer in the air and smiles everywhere!  I hope that you share the excitement with your child and savor every moment while they are still little.  The holiday magic does not last very long, so cherish it now!  Sometimes around the holidays we become so busy with the things that we think “must” get done, that we forget to take the time to sit down with our children and enjoy them.  Enjoy the excitement and sparkle in their eyes!

December is a short month of school filled with holiday activities and a special holiday party.  We will be focusing on such things as gingerbread men, snowmen, snowflakes, Hanukkah, Christmas, candy canes, and much more.  We will also be introducing the letters G and H during the first two weeks of December!  Also, our show and tells for the month are: December 5th– something shiny, and December 12th– something white, and December 19th– a holiday decoration or toy from your home.  Please remember to help your child choose an item to bring for show and tell each week.

Our holiday parties for both classes will take place on Friday, December 21st, which is a half-day of school.  The AM class will attend school from 9:00-11:00.  The PM class will attend school from 11:30-1:25.  Please remember that only parents who signed up to attend the party will assist the class mother during the party.  Class mothers will contact all parents to remind them about the specifics of the party, as the date becomes near.  The morning class party will begin at 9:45 and the afternoon class party will begin at 12:15.  Please also remember that this is a special time for the children in the class and we ask that siblings be cared for at home if a parent is attending the party.

Finally, please note that school will be closed from December 22ndthrough January 1st.  School will resume on Wednesday, January 2nd.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I hope you have a wonderful month preparing for the holidays to come!
