PTO Fundraisers

A variety of fundraising programs are offered so that families may choose those of greatest interest. Some programs listed below occur each year while others occur less frequently.

School Spirit Wear Sale

The sale of school spirit wear is held in the Fall and Spring provided by the PTO for the parents and students who would like to show their school spirit by wearing apparel that displays our school colors and logo. The chairperson for this committee works with a chosen vendor and arranges the details of printing, ordering, and distribution of apparel. 

Fall Fundraiser

The Fall Fundraiser is a major fundraiser for the PTO. The school community is invited to purchase holiday and special occasion gift-wrap at reasonable prices. The sale is held in October and the proceeds are used to help fund many different PTO events and programs. The chairperson contacts the vendor, schedules the event, and distributes gift wrap packets. When the gift wrap order forms are returned minimal reconciliation is necessary.

The distribution of the gift-wrap is a one-day project that requires a large group of parent volunteers. Assistance is needed to separate and stack orders by school and class. This may take several hours. During the late afternoon and early evening, several volunteers are needed to help monitor customer order pickup.

Book Fair

The PTO sponsors a book fair generally during the months of November and March. This fundraiser event takes place at all three schools and runs on consecutive days. A school book-fair vendor provides a large selection of quality hardcover and paperback books at reasonable prices. Students are invited to preview the books the first day and make purchases on the second day. Parents are also invited to participate. The committee chairperson contacts the book vendor, schedules the event, and schedules parent volunteers to help. Younger siblings cannot be accommodated at this event.

Bingo and Basket Auction Night

The chairperson of this event, along with a committee, will coordinate the creation of "gift" baskets, assembled either by classes, groups, or families, to be auctioned off at a a district-wide social and fun evening for adults. The chairperson is also responsible for scheduling, organizing volunteers, and communication with the community. This event generally consists of Bingo, the basket auction, a 50/50 chance, and light refreshments.

N.A.C.T.Y. Fundraisers

The number of no-additional-cost-to-you fundraisers grows and changes daily. These programs apply to all grades and all schools. The two biggest campaigns to date have been Boxtops for Education and Campbell’s Labels. Other recent NACTY participants include cell phone and printer cartridge recycling, Target VISA shopping rebates, Bridgewater Commons School Tools, and other local business programs. The chairperson is responsible for identifying new opportunities, communicating these to the school community, and coordinating with volunteers to promote and execute specific campaigns.
